Frequently asked questions
Where do I paste the code?
Anywhere in the page's HTML, usually in the head. Most CMSs have a field or plugin for custom code in the head; on WordPress, SEO plugins and header-code plugins both work.
Should the markup match what's on the page?
Yes. Google requires structured data to describe content visitors can see. Marking up reviews, prices or FAQs that aren't on the page can lead to a manual action.
Which type should my home page have?
Organization, or Local Business if customers visit you, with your name, logo, website and social profiles, plus WebSite with your site's name. Service and product pages then get their own types.
