llms.txt generator and checker

Build an llms.txt for your site in a minute: we read your sitemap, collect each page's title and description, group them into sections, and give you a file to edit and download. Already have one? Check it against the format.

What it checks

Create an llms.txt from your sitemap, or check the one you have.

  • Finds your sitemap from robots.txt or the usual addresses, including sitemap indexes
  • Reads each page's title and meta description, and leaves out pages that are broken, redirected, noindex or point their canonical elsewhere
  • Groups pages into sections by URL, with legal and policy pages under Optional
  • Checks an existing llms.txt: the H1 title, summary, sections and link format from llmstxt.org

Frequently asked questions

What is llms.txt?

A proposed standard (llmstxt.org) for a plain Markdown file at the root of your site that gives AI tools a short, curated map of your most useful pages. It's optional: Google doesn't use it, and AI companies haven't said how much they rely on it, so treat it as a small extra, not a ranking fix.

Where do I put the file?

At the root of your domain, so it opens at yourdomain.com/llms.txt, served as plain text. On most hosts you upload it next to robots.txt.

How many pages should it list?

Your most useful pages, not every URL. Service or product pages, key guides, pricing, about and contact are a good start. The generator lets you choose how many pages to read, and you can edit the result before downloading.
