Generative Engine Optimization
Be the source generative search is built from
Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Copilot and Perplexity assemble one answer from several pages. GEO makes your pages the ones they pull from, and your brand the one they cite.
What changes when search writes the answer
Generative results reward different page qualities than a list of ten blue links.
Fewer clicks for everyone else
When an AI summary answers the query, fewer people scroll to the links. The sources cited inside the summary keep the attention.
One question becomes many
Generative search splits a query into related sub-questions, known as query fan-out. Pages that cover only the head term miss the rest.
Pages that are hard to quote
Long, unstructured pages are hard for a model to lift a passage from. Clear sections, facts and tables are easier to cite.
Facts that don't add up
Generative engines favour information they can corroborate. Scattered or contradictory facts about your brand lower your odds.
How we do it
We study what generative results cite today, then build the pages and signals they need.
Map generative results
We find which of your target queries show AI Overviews, AI Mode or Copilot answers, and list the sources each one cites.
Reverse-engineer the winners
We compare cited pages with yours on structure, depth, freshness, facts and authority, and turn the gaps into a roadmap.
Cover the fan-out
We build topic clusters that answer the sub-questions around each query, so your site is relevant at every step of the answer.
Make pages quotable
Clear headings, short definitions, comparison tables, original data and schema, so passages can be lifted and credited to you.
Corroborate across the web
The same facts on your site, your profiles and trusted third-party sources, so engines can rely on what they cite.

Frequently asked questions
What is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)?
GEO is optimizing your content and brand so generative search, such as Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity, uses your pages as sources and cites you in the answers it writes.
What's the difference between GEO and AEO?
They overlap. AEO focuses on being the answer an assistant recommends. GEO focuses on being one of the sources generative search results are built from. We usually run them together, because the same brand signals help both.
Will GEO affect my Google rankings?
Positively, if anything. Clear structure, thorough topic coverage and strong authority help classic rankings as well as generative results.
How do you track citations in AI Overviews?
We check your target queries on a schedule, record whether an AI answer appears and which sources it cites, and combine that with Search Console data in your Glass Box workspace.
Do I need GEO if I already do SEO?
If your buyers search in Google, yes. More queries now show an AI answer above the links, and being cited there is a separate job from ranking below it.
