How the model works

Every assumption behind the numbers, so you can judge them.

  • Your share of the monthly searches grows along an S-curve: about 2% in month 1, rising towards a ceiling of 18%, with the steepest growth around month 5.
  • Search visits = monthly searches × that month's share. Visits from AI assistants are added on top, as the percentage you set.
  • New customers = visits × the share of visitors who buy. Revenue = new customers × customer value.
  • Return = (total revenue − total investment) ÷ total investment. Break-even is the first month your running revenue passes your running investment.
  • The Google Ads figure prices every modelled visit at the cost per click you enter.
  • It doesn't know your current rankings, competitors or seasonality. Changing currency converts the example values at approximate exchange rates.

Frequently asked questions

Is the result a forecast?

No. It's a model built from the numbers you enter and a simple growth curve. Real results depend on your site, your competitors and your market, which is why we look at those before recommending a plan.

Where do I find my own numbers?

Monthly searches for what you sell are in Google Keyword Planner or your Search Console data. Your conversion rate is in Google Analytics, and customer value is in your sales records. The industry presets are only examples to start from.

Why does growth follow an S-curve?

Search visibility builds slowly at first: new and improved pages take time to be crawled, trusted and ranked. Gains then speed up as pages rank and earn links and mentions, before levelling off as you win most of what's available. The curve is a simple way to show that shape; your own timing will differ.

Does it include traffic from AI assistants?

Yes, as an assumption you control. Set how many extra visits ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews send, as a share of your search visits, or set it to zero to leave them out.
