What is a knowledge panel?

Search a well-known company and Google may show a panel with its logo, a short description, founding date, headquarters, social profiles and related searches. That's a knowledge panel, generated automatically from Google's Knowledge Graph.

How to get one

There's no application form. Google shows panels for entities it understands well. You can help by:

  1. Adding Organization schema with logo and sameAs links.
  2. Keeping facts consistent across the web.
  3. Being covered by reputable, independent sources.

Frequently asked questions

Is a knowledge panel the same as a Google Business Profile?

No. Business Profiles are for local businesses and you manage them directly. Knowledge panels are automatic, for entities in the Knowledge Graph.
