Schema markup checker

Enter a page, or paste your JSON-LD, to see every structured data item, whether it's valid, and whether it has the fields Google needs for rich results. Each problem says which field to add or fix.

What it checks

Check a page's structured data against Google's rich result rules.

  • JSON-LD blocks (including @graph) and microdata, with any syntax errors
  • Google's required and recommended fields for Article, Product, Local Business, Event, FAQ, Breadcrumb, Video, Recipe, Review, Software App, Job Posting, Organization and more
  • Common mistakes: relative URLs, dates not in ISO 8601 format, empty values and a missing @context
  • Types Google no longer shows rich results for, so you don't chase features that are gone

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as Google's Rich Results Test?

It checks the same published requirements, but it's our own implementation, so treat Google's Rich Results Test and Search Console as the final word. Ours adds plain-English fixes and also checks types Google's test ignores.

Does structured data help with AI search?

It helps search engines and AI systems understand what a page is about and who's behind it: an organization's name, logo and profiles, a product's price, an article's author and date. It isn't a ranking shortcut on its own.

Why no FAQ rich results for my site?

Since 2023 Google shows FAQ rich results only for well-known government and health websites. FAQ markup is still valid and still describes your content; it just rarely produces the expanded result.
