What is E-E-A-T?
E-E-A-T comes from the guidelines Google gives its human quality raters, who evaluate search results to help Google test its systems. Raters ask:
- Experience: has the creator actually done or used what they describe?
- Expertise: do they have the knowledge or skill the topic needs?
- Authoritativeness: is the creator or site a go-to source on the topic?
- Trustworthiness: is the page accurate, honest and safe? Google calls trust the most important.
Is E-E-A-T a ranking factor?
Not a single score. Google's systems use many signals that align with what raters look for. In practice, content that clearly shows experience and trust tends to perform better, especially on "Your Money or Your Life" topics.
