    What you get

Preview your title and description as a Google result, with pixel limits.

    • Title width measured in pixels against Google's roughly 600-pixel limit
    • Description width against about 920 pixels on desktop and 680 on mobile
    • Your keyword in bold, the way Google highlights search terms
    • Warnings for missing brand, all caps, repeated words and titles that are too short

    Frequently asked questions

Why measure pixels instead of characters?

Google cuts titles and descriptions by width, not character count. Wide letters like W and M use more space than i or l, so two 60-character titles can be cut at different points.

Will Google use my title exactly?

Usually, but not always. Google rewrites titles that are too long, stuffed with keywords or don't match the page. A clear, accurate title under the limit is the best way to keep yours.

Should the brand name be in the title?

Usually yes, at the end: "Topic | Brand". Google also shows your site name above the title, so on very long titles you can drop it.
